Your beautiful, white smile is very important to us at Spartanburg Family Dentistry. When meeting someone, it is one of the first things you notice. Teeth whitening is a simple, safe oxygenating procedure used to lighten and brighten discolored teeth. Whitening is most effective in restoring teeth which have become discolored due to yellowing from factors such as age, tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea, medications, etc. Whitening is not effective in brightening existing crowns, fillings or porcelain veneers.
Major life events such as weddings, graduations, etc. are important milestones. You can look your best and be confident in your appearance with our KoR whitening system. This wonderful product works by restoring your teeth’s ability to absorb oxygen, removing stain molecules by the oxygen that is deeply absorbed in the teeth leaving you with a beautiful smile.
We offer a two-week take home bleaching system that allows you to brighten your smile in the privacy of your own home while you sleep. Easy periodic home maintenance touch-ups will allow you to enjoy coffee, tea and wine (staining foods) with little or no effect on your bright, white smile.
There are several over-the-counter teeth whitening kits available in today’s marketplace. We highly recommend that you come in for a consultation to ensure that our KoR whitening system benefits you. Feel free to contact our office for additional information on a brighter, whiter smile.
Invisalign
Invisalign improves the alignment of your teeth through a series of custom-made, clear dental aligners designed to address crowding, spacing, rotations and other limited orthodontic issues. These aligners are removable, comfortable and virtually invisible. The process begins with x-rays, photographs and impressions or digital scans of your teeth which will be used by Invisalign to create a digital 3-D image of your teeth. These images enable us to create the treatment plan best suited for you, as well as an approximate length of treatment. By changing the aligners approximately every two weeks and coming in for occasional check-ups, you will be able to see continued improvement as you move through the stages of your treatment. Call us today for your initial consultation and evaluation and we will have you on your way to a confident, healthy, and beautiful smile.
Dental Crowns
We are proud to offer the latest in dental technology, with Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, more commonly referred to as CEREC crowns. Since we have invested in CEREC technology, wearing temporary crowns while waiting for custom-made, permanent crowns to be created in a laboratory is no longer necessary. Our patients can now get long-lasting and durable CEREC crowns in just one dental visit. Our commitment to the continued use of state-of-the-art software and equipment makes this possible for our patients.
CEREC crowns provide our patients with a convenient and innovative answer to their dental needs. The CEREC system uses 3-D design software and an in-house milling machine to design custom-fitted crowns, eliminating the need for impression molds.
Veneers
Veneers consist of ultra-thin, customized strips of porcelain bonded directly to the surface of the natural teeth to correct noticeable flaws such as uneven surfaces, crooked, chipped, cracked and discolored teeth. They can restore your smile by giving a fresh new look to old, worn down teeth.
If you are interested in changing the appearance or shade of our teeth, please contact our office for a personalized evaluation to determine how to achieve your ideal smile. Using photographs and digital scans of your teeth, we create a digital mockup of your new smile and in many cases, you can actually “try” your new smile before we complete the makeover.
Bonding
Dental bonding is a tooth-colored resin used for several purposes including filling cavities, closing gaps between teeth and protecting roots of teeth. Bonding also can be used to cosmetically cover discolored and otherwise unattractive teeth.
The process begins with matching a composite resin material to the color of your natural teeth. Dr. Summers roughens the surface of the tooth before a bonding liquid is applied. The soft composite resin is placed on the tooth and a curing light is projected onto the bonded area activating the hardening process. After shaping and polishing, the bonded tooth looks completely natural.
